| Abstract: |
| Cd0.5Zn0.5S and Ni2+ doped Ni(m)/Cd0.5Zn0.5S solid solution photocatalysts were prepared by hydrothermal method. Structure and photoelectric properties of catalyst were characterized by XRD, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and electrochemical methods. Using triethanolamine as electron donor, photocatalytic activity of solid solution was evaluated by hydrogen evolution from water splitting under visible light (λ≥420 nm) irradiation. It is found that Ni2+ doping improves absorption of visible light by catalyst, promotes effective separation of photo-generated electrons and holes, and effectively enhances photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity of Cd0.5Zn0.5S solid solution. When doping content of Ni2+ is 5% (mole fraction) and NaOH concentration of reaction system is 0.5 mol/L, catalyst activity is the highest, and hydrogen evolution activity of Ni(5)/Cd0.5Zn0.5S is 5 times that of pure Cd0.5Zn0.5S solid solution. Stability test indicates that catalyst is rather stable during 15 h photoreaction. |
