Abstract:
Removal of ferrous by gothite method is frequently used in zinc hydrometallurgy process, and gothite slag contains valuable metals (Fe, Zn, In, etc), which has a high recovery value for utilization. A novel process was proposed to recover Zn, In, and Fe from gothite slag through reduction roasting combined with magnetic separation. Firstly, a detailed process mineralogy study was carried out by MLA analysis to find out content of valuable metals and composition of main phases. Effect factors were systemically studied in reduction roasting, and the optimal condition was obtained as follows: addition of carbon powder is 40%, roasting time is 4 h, and roasting temperature is 1 100 ℃. Under this condition, volatilization efficiencies of zinc and indium are 93.63% and 71.48% respectively. The reduction roasting residue was crushed, milled and separated by high-intensity and low-intensity magnetic field for producing iron ore concentrate with Fe content of 63.80%, and yield rate of 69.46%.
