Abstract:
Aluminum dross is rich in aluminum and has high recovery potential. Effects of initial acid concentration, leaching temperature and time, and L/S on leaching rate of aluminum from aluminum dross were studied. Thermodynamic analysis shows that aluminum exists in the form of Al3+ in acidic solution when pH value is less than 2. Experimental results show that aluminum leaching rate is 85.86% under the optimum conditions including particle size of -150 μm, temperature of 80 ℃, initial acid concentration of 6 mol/L, L/S of 10, and reaction time of 120 min. The unreacted shrinking core model is used for leaching kinetic analysis. Leaching process is controlled by diffusion with apparent activation energy of 3.11 kJ/mol. Extraction rate of aluminum from aluminum dross can be improved by increasing reaction temperature, reducing raw material particle size, and strengthening stirring.
