Abstract:
Shaking flask leaching experiments of uranium ore from a newly developed deposit in Xinjiang were carried out under the condition of constant acidity by periodic sulfuric acid supplement. The characteristics of uranium leaching and effects of acidity and oxidant on uranium leaching were studied. The results show that after 96 hours leaching, uranium recovery under constant acidity leaching is 67.75%—96.62% without oxidant and 84.55%—97.84% with oxidant respectively. Uranium recovery is positively correlated with acidity of leaching agent, but when acidity exceeded 6 g/L, the correlation is significantly weakened. Compared with non-constant acidity leaching, the constant acidity leaching does not improve the recovery. H2O2 has a certain effect on recovery improvement, and uranium recovery can improve 3—4 percentage points for 6 g/L acidity leaching system. Overall, 6 g/L sulfuric acid is relatively economical and efficient process conditions.
