| Abstract: |
| Suitable slag viscosity is vital for smooth operation of smelting lead-containing solid wastes, and the slag viscosity is intrinsically related to slag structure. Viscosities of synthetic slags were investigated for FeO-SiO2-CaO-ZnO system with a range of FeO/SiO2=1.5-2.4, CaO/SiO2=0.3-0.7, and ZnO=5%-15%. The experiment results show that all tested slags exhibit the property of basic type slag characterized by clear fusion temperature in the viscosity curves. Too much of CaO, FeO, and ZnO in slag would depress SiO2 content down below 24%, which cause a notable increasement of the slag fusion temperature. The proper slag composition is determined as ZnO 11%, FeO/SiO2=1.8, and CaO/SiO2=0.5. |
