Abstract:
The glass-ceramics from ferrochrome slag and fluorite tailings were prepared by sintering applying ferrochrome slag and fluorite tailings as main raw materials and borax as auxiliary materials. Effect of borax addition on the structure and properties of glass-ceramics from ferrochrome slag and fluorite tailings was investigated by thermodynamic analysis, Raman spectroscopy, XRD, and SEM, respectively. The results show that addition of borax can effectively reduce the soft melting temperature and promote the sintering of ferrochrome slag with fluorite tailings glass-ceramics. The total content of main silicon oxygen network structure Q2 and Q3 of glass-ceramics from ferrochrome slag and fluorite tailings and the content of pyroxene phase in the glass-ceramics are basically unchanged with the increase of borax content. When the amount of borax is 10% and the sintering temperature is 1 100 ℃, the glass-ceramics displayed optimal properties with Vickers hardness, density and water absorption are 565.8HV, 2.61 g/cm3 and 0.211%, respectively.
