Abstract:
The possibility of leaching copper and arsenic from arsenic-bearing waste in copper electrolysis by pressurized acid oxidation was analyzed. The mechanism of leaching process was analyzed by kinetics. Effects of temperature, pressure and acidity on leaching efficiency were investigated to determine the optimal technological conditions for production. The leaching process of copper and arsenic follows the shrinking core model controlled by interfacial chemical reaction with the apparent activation energy of 80.23 and 73.29 kJ/mol respectively. The leaching rate of copper and arsenic from arsenic-bearing waste in copper electrolysis is more than 98% under the optimal conditions including L/S=6—10, initial concentration of sulfuric acid of 80—120 g/L, oxygen partial pressure of 0.3—0.5 MPa, temperature of 110—120 ℃, and oxidation time of 1—1.5 h.
