| Abstract: |
| Apple peel powder was used to prepare the adsorbent for silver ions loading through the adsorption process, and its antibacterial effect was verified effectively. Effects of pH value, dosage of apple peel powder, reaction time, initial concentration of silver ion, and temperature on adsorption efficiency were investigated. The results show that the best adsorption effect is achieved when pH is about 5, and the adsorption capacity can reach more than 55 mg/g. The silver-loaded apple peel particles have excellent antibacterial effect against bacillus and colibacillus that can be used for water purification. The loaded silver is the key ingredient that causes the bactericidal effect, while the pure apple peel does not have any bactericidal effect. |
