| Abstract: |
| The gas roasting starting technology and graphitized cathode technology are the preferred technologies for aluminum electrolysis smelter to comprehensively reduce power consumption under the requirements of the national tiered electricity price policy. By analyzing the advantages of gas roasting starting technology and the characteristics of graphitized cathode technology, the technical measures such as improving roasting temperature, adjusting heating strategy, and prolonging roasting time when electrolysis cell using the graphitized cathode technology roasted with gas were pointed out, and industrial application was carried out on two 400 kA electrolysis cells which has no leakage after starting. During the period of six months of stable operation, the cell bottom voltage drop can be kept 185 mV below, the DC power consumption for per tonnage aluminum is 12 269 kWh, which reaching a good level in the industry. |
