| Abstract: |
| Scientific analysis of 39 bronze wares unearthed from Dunping Site in Zhangxian county, Gansu province was carried out. The instrumental testing and analysis show that this batch of bronze wares is mainly based on casting technology, supplemented by hot forging and reprocessing technology. The alloy materials are mainly Cu, Sn and Pb, and there are also a small amount of quaternary alloys mainly composed of Cu, Sn, and 2 pieces of Cu, Sn, Pb and As. In addition, a small or trace amount of As is also detected in most bronze ware, and the overall ratio of lead and tin content shows that the content of tin is higher than that of lead. The appearance of As element proves that in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, when the bronze utensils with Cu, Sn and Pb as the main components are widely spread, there are still places where arsenic-containing copper utensils existed. The scientific detection and analysis of this batch of bronzes provides more scientific basis for studying the forming process and alloy ratio of Xirong Culture bronze wares, and enriches the diversity of Xirong Bronze Culture. |
