| Abstract: |
| As lithium-ion batteries enter the end-of-life phase, the recovery of valuable metals from spent lithium-ion batteries is of economical and environmental significance. Combined biomass gasification for hydrogen production and reduction roasting recovery process of spent lithium-ion batteries was proposed. Pine sawdust (PS) was selected as the sample for steam gasification at 675 ℃. LiCoO2 was in situ decomposed and reduced by reducing gas (H2, CO, CH4, etc.) and semicoke (C) produced in the process of pyrolysis and gasification. At the same time, the content of H2 in the gas was further enhanced by using CaO as CO2 adsorbent. The results show that the recovery rates of Li and Co are 83.4%±4% and 96.5%±2% respectively, and H2 yield can reach 73% at 675 ℃ and the mass ratio of PS to LiCoO2 of 1. This study provides a green, environment-friendly, and efficient method to recover valuable metals from spent lithium-ion batteries. |
