| Abstract: |
| The iron pollution of muscovite after grinding seriously affects the product quality. Thiourea dioxide was introduced as a reducing agent for removing iron and brightening of muscovite, and the effects of chemical leaching and oxidation-reduction removal of iron on the whiteness of muscovite were systematically studied. The muscovite product with a whiteness of 70.300% can be obtained under the conditions including leaching agent of 9% oxalic acid solution, L/S of 3︰1, leaching temperature of 80 ℃, and leaching time of 40 minutes. Then, the muscovite product with a whiteness of 76.114% is obtained by oxidizing with the oxidant NaClO solution and under the conditions of reducing agent dosage of 6%, pH=12, reduction temperature of 60 ℃, and reduction time of 15 minutes, which meets the requirements of 75.000% whiteness of white mica for most high-end products. |
