Abstract:
Address to the low uranium concentration and slow resource recovery rate in the leaching solution of a uranium mine in a certain area of Inner Mongolia, a "secondary development" technical plan was proposed to adjust the well network layout and change the migration path of the leaching solution flow, and it has been applied in the field. The research shows that the ore body in the mining area can now end its "primary development" and shift to the "secondary development" stage. All original injection wells have been discontinued in the "secondary development" well network, and the original pumping wells have been replaced by a new production well network, forming a "Big Five Point" well network pattern. By reconstructing the leaching seepage field in the mining area, the dead corners of leaching have been reduced. The spacing between pumping and injection wells rises from 35 m to 49.5 m, and the uranium concentration accumulation pathway also increases. Within 65 days, the uranium concentration in the collected samples rises from 8.84 mg/L to 13.89 mg/L, with an increase of 57%. The amount of metal leached from the mining area rises by 18.33 kg/d, with an increase of 39.3%. Reducing the number of liquid extraction wells by more than half, saving production electricity by about 4×104 kWh per month, which has a significant effect on improving resource utilization and reducing production costs, and can be promoted and applied to other similar old mining areas of the deposit.
