Abstract:
Through the comparison of iron and aluminum electrode materials, aluminum pole plate was selected as the electrode material to study the effects of pole plate spacing, current density, reaction time, and wastewater pH value on the treatment of acidic mine draine by electroflocculation. The results show that when the initial mass concentration of Fe2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ in wastewater is 295.1, 18.3 and 8.2 mg/L, respectively, electrode spacing is 10 mm, current density is 20 mA/cm2, and pH value of wastewater is 5.0, and reaction time is 40 min, the removal efficiency of Fe2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ is 90.8%, 96.5% and 96.8%, respectively, and the pH value of wastewater after reaction is 6.7. On the basis of single-factor experiment, the maximum values of the removal rate of Fe2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ in electroflocculation and the maximum pH value of the effluent were taken as the evaluation indexes, and the optimization conditions were analytically fitted through the model established by the response surface method and verified by repeating the experiments for three times. The results show that the average removal rate of Fe2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ is 87.02%, 93.91% and 94.63%, respectively, and average pH value is 6.13 under the conditions including current density of 21 mA/cm2, reaction time of 35 min, plate spacing of 10 mm. The model can predict the effect of electroflocculation on acid mine wastewater treatment. The SEM-EDS test analysis of flocculating constituent shows that heavy metals such as Fe, Cu, Zn can be effectively removed from wastewater.
