Abstract:
As a high-energy-consuming electrolytic aluminum enterprise with power, carbon anode and alumina as the main demand, in order to actively respond to the national strategic goal of "carbon peak, carbon neutrality", a company took the lead in adopting technical reform measures to achieve carbon reduction and consumption reduction, using high-conductive steel rods, high-conductive graphitized cathode carbon blocks, strong insulation bottom lining materials and other optimization transformation programs to improve energy utilization and reduce comprehensive power consumption. The production and application of graphitized cathode liner in 400 kA electrolytic aluminum cell were studied. Compared with graphite cathode carbon block, graphitized cathode carbon block has better electrical and thermal conductivity, which can improve the current efficiency and the stability of the electrolyzer. The cathode voltage drop, average voltage, effect coefficient and AC/DC power consumption were significantly reduced, and the life of the electrolyzer cell was also extended, achieving the goal of optimizing the lining of the electrolyzer and reducing energy consumption.
