Abstract:
Using cerium sulfate as additive, the operation mechanism and optimum dosage of cerium sulfate in copper foil electrolysis were investigated by means of electrochemical workstation and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show that when the amount of 1 g/L cerium sulfate is 2 mL, the electrolytic copper foil has negative potential shift and fine grain, which significantly improves the corrosion resistance, reduces the roughness by nearly 30%, and increases the tensile strength and elongation by 65.1% and 113.2%, respectively. The special electronic structure of cerium cation enables it to play an excellent role in the production of electrolytic copper foil, and also provides ideas for the development of new additives.
