Abstract:
The representative industrial high arsenic containing waste acids was selected to study the effects of controlling factors, such as endpoint pH value, Fe/As molar ratio, reaction time, and oxidation method on arsenic removal and fixation in the lime ferric salt method. Combined with the actual situation of industrial application, under the conditions of pH=1.2, gypsum crystal seed ratio of 1︰1 and reaction time of two hours, the qualified gypsum products are preferred to be produced. The arsenic removal was carried out under the conditions including H2O2 as oxidant, H2O2/As molar ratio of 1.5, reaction terminal pH value of 8, crystal seed ratio of 1:1, Fe/As molar ratio of 4.5, and reaction time of three hours. The concentration of As after arsenic removal is 0.12 mg/L, which is lower than the standard value (0.5 mg/L), and the arsenic removal rate is close to 100%. The TCLP leaching toxicity of arsenic removal residue is 2.25 mg/L, which is lower than the standard value (3 mg/L). The industrial application process has the advantages of simple flow, convenient operation and low cost. It is a reliable and safe process for removing and fixing arsenic.
