| Abstract: |
| At present, the research related to biodegradation of polypropylene plastics is still in the stage of metabolic strain resource isolation, and there is a serious lack of polypropylene plastic degradation strains that can be studied and applied. A strain of Bacillus subtilis obtained from soil screening was utilized for polypropylene plastic granule degradation in the early stage, and it was found that there were obvious traces of microbial erosion on the surface of polypropylene plastics after 14 days. The influence of polypropylene plastics on the growth of Bacillus subtilis and the content of total protein was investigated and the products of polypropylene appeared to be inhibitory to Bacillus subtilis. At the same time, the formation of short-chain hydrocarbons was detected by infrared analysis, indicating that chain-breaking degradation of polypropylene plastics has achieved. This conclusion provides a scientific basis for the subsequent in-depth analysis of the mechanism of degradation of polypropylene plastics by Bacillus subtilis, further upgrading and modification of the whole-cell degradation system, and the realization of efficient green degradation and recycling of waste polypropylene plastics. |
