Abstract:
The reducing effect of different sulfur compound reducing agents on selenium removal was studied. Bivalent organic sulfur compounds were identified as reducing agents for selenium removal from selenium containing wastewater of copper smelting. The effects of the amount of reducing agent, reaction temperature, reaction acidity and reaction time on the removal of selenium were investigated. The optimum process conditions for reducing selenium by divalent organic sulfur compounds are determined as follows: acidity controlled at 80 g/L, dosage of reagent of 1.0 g/L, reaction at 80 ℃ for four hours. After the reaction, the selenium content in wastewater is reduced to < 0.1 mg/L, which met the environmental protection requirements of production.
