| Abstract: |
| Lu""an area is the area in the Yangtze River basin where many Chu mirrors were unearthed. Through systematic scientific analysis, it is found that 8 Chu mirrors unearthed in Lu""an area are mainly lead-tin bronzes, with a small amount of tin bronzes. Most of the Chu mirrors from Lu""an area are produced in the same mirror-casting system, they use the same source of copper materials, and the lead materials are mainly pointed to the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, with the exception of 1 piece of bronze mirror with mountain-shape excavated from Shuanglong Cemetery, which has a significantly different source of copper and lead materials. Further comparative research shows that the mineral utilization patterns for mirror casting in the eastern and southern parts of Chu State are distinctly different. The recession of the Nanling minerals in the mirror casting system of Eastern Chu State implies an important change in the political power and mineral exploitation of the Chu State in the late Warring States Period, and the mirror casting center of Chu State may be shifted to the area of Lu""an-Shouxian county in the same period. |
