Abstract:
Lithium was extracted from waste aluminum electrolyte via low-temperature roasting with aluminum chloride and water leaching process without acid consumption. The effects of roasting conditions and water leaching conditions on the leaching rate of lithium were investigated. The results show that the leaching rate of lithium is 92.8% under the optimal conditions including aluminum chloride addition of 0.9 g/g, roasting temperature of 150 ℃, roasting time of 120 min, water leaching temperature of 30 ℃, liquid-solid ratio of 6 mL/g, and leaching time of 30 min. The fluoride and aluminum are enriched in the leaching residue in the form of Al2(OH)(6—x)Fx?H2O and can be recovered and prepared into cryolite through alkaline leaching, which realizes the resource utilization of aluminum scrap electrolyte.
