| Abstract: |
| This paper introduces the current status of technologies and equipment in primary resource smelters and secondary resource processing plants of non-ferrous metal industry in China, as well as the challenges and main issues faced. The strategic significance of accelerating the construction of a technology system for the collaborative utilization of primary and secondary resources was elucidated. Finally, the major research works and achievements in this field were introduced. In 2024, the output of top ten non-ferrous metals is 79.19 million tons in China. Various concentrates and ores input smelters approximately 250 million tons. In 2024, about 11.6 billion tons of solid wastes were generated, including around 4 billion tons of industrial solid wastes and 1.2 billion tons containing valuable metals, which have potential for recycling. China has established a completed non-ferrous metal industry system, with both production and consumption exceeding 30% of the whole world. Although the quantities of secondary resources are increasing, it still faces small scale, disassemble, disordered, with different technologies and equipment. With the development of international capacity cooperation and the proportion of recycling metals increases, primary resource smelters face issues such as raw material shortages and transformation development. Whether it is necessary to establish a separate secondary resource industrial system is an important choice for the future. To avoid redundant construction and eliminate existing excess capacities, it is an urgent need to build a collaborative utilization industrial system for primary and secondary resources. BGRIMM Technology Group has carried out a series of research works and initially developed a collaborative utilization technology system characterized by copper, lead, nickel, and iron smelting processes. |
