Abstract:
In order to improve the serious environmental harm caused by acidic mine wastewater (AMD), based on the Desulfovibriomultispirans strain named H1MTZ23, which was enriched and isolated from a mine in Namibia, its performance in desulfurization of AMD under different temperature, pH, value and carbon source conditions was investigated. The experimental results show that H1MTZ23 exhibited its peak desulfurization performance at a temperature of 32 ℃ and pH value of 7, with sodium lactate serving as the carbon source. Remarkably, when corn cob fermentation broth was employed as the carbon source, the removal rate of SO?2? is 80.99%. This carbon source is cost effective and efficient, so it is worthy of further study and optimization. In the context of a pure culture medium, no substantial discrepancies were detected between the single strain and composite strain systems. However, within the mixed system constituted by wastewater and corn cob fermentation broth, the sequential combination of H1MTZ23 (Z) with the other three strains, namely A1SXC21Q (X), C3YC21D (C), and GnLF21 (L), effectively optimizes the reductive environment and remarkably enhance the desulfurization efficiency. Specifically, the combination of Z+X+C+L achieves the highest sulfate removal rate of 67.31%. This research not only provides a solid theoretical foundation for the microbial remediation of AMD, but also offers valuable insights and guidance for the development of highly efficient and low-cost wastewater treatment technologies, thereby making a substantial contribution to the field of environmental protection.
